Strengthening Our Sustainability Journey: EcoVadis Silver Medal Marks the Latest Milestone for Geia Group
10 April 2026

At Lupa Foods, sustainability is not a standalone initiative. It is a long-term commitment that shapes how we operate, how we source, and how we support our customers and supply partners across the food industry.

That is why we are proud to share the latest development in our sustainability journey. Geia Group has been awarded an EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability performance, placing the Group among the top 15% of companies assessed globally over the last 12 months.

A meaningful external recognition

EcoVadis is a globally recognised sustainability ratings platform that assesses businesses across four key themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The Silver Medal reflects a strong sustainability management system and provides an independent, evidence-based view of how sustainability is being managed across the organisation today.

For us, this recognition is important not simply because it marks an achievement, but because it supports the direction of travel we are already on. Sustainability is a continuous process, and independent assessment plays an important role in helping businesses measure progress, identify opportunities and keep improving.

Sustainability in practice

For us, sustainability goes beyond environmental action alone. It also means building a responsible business that values transparency, good governance and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

That wider view is one reason the EcoVadis framework is so relevant. Its assessment across Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement reflects the breadth of issues that matter to modern food businesses and their customers. In a sector where resilience, traceability and accountability are increasingly important, this kind of external benchmarking helps demonstrate that sustainability is being approached in a structured and credible way.

Our existing sustainability journey also includes social impact. Lupa Foods has previously shared updates on its partnership with FareShare, including reporting that it had surpassed 100,000 meal equivalents redistributed in 2023 and highlighting the role that surplus food redistribution can play in reducing waste while supporting communities.

Building on the foundations already in place at Lupa Foods

At Lupa Foods, our sustainability approach is guided around three core pillars: Environmental, Social and Governance. These pillars help us shape practical actions, review performance and strengthen the way we work over time. A key part of that journey has been our work with Planet Mark. Recently, Lupa Foods also announced its 2025 Planet Mark recertification, reporting a 28% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions. We have also been a member of the SME Climate Hub since 2022, reinforcing our commitment to climate action and our ambition to halve emissions by 2030. Through that commitment, we joined the United Nations Race to Zero campaign.

Why this matters to our customers and partners

Customers across the food manufacturing sector increasingly want partners who combine ingredient expertise with responsible business practices. Sustainability is now closely linked to sourcing decisions, supply chain expectations and long-term resilience.

As part of Geia Group, we believe this latest EcoVadis recognition strengthens the broader platform from which we support customers. It reflects a shared focus on structured sustainability management, transparency throughout the value chain and a commitment to continuous improvement. That complements the work we are already doing at Lupa Foods through our own ESG strategy, carbon measurement and climate commitments.

Looking ahead

We see sustainability as a journey, not a tick-box exercise. The EcoVadis Silver Medal is an encouraging milestone for Geia Group, and for Lupa Foods it is the latest addition to a wider programme of work already under way.

We remain committed to measuring our impact, improving our practices and working with customers, suppliers and partners who share our ambition to build a more responsible and resilient food industry.
